Hey!
I'm Jessie. I have a passion for helping people, especially with lessons I've learned (usually the hard way- that's how I do things!), to make the path to health and fitness a little less cumbersome.
I have a BS in Elementary Education from the University of Nevada-Reno, and spent 17 years in Elementary Education, doing most of my time as a Kindergarten Teacher. I "retired" in June 2022 to work as a fitness instructor more full time. My fitness certification began in 2015 with a SchwinnIndoor Cycling Instructor certification, and I have since added: Cancer Exercise Specialist, Barre Above Certified Level 2 Instructor (and proud BootyKicker affiliate!), Pilates Reformer Certified through TMCC, Certified Nutrition Coach through SCW, BOSU Certified Instructor, Aqua Fitness Instructor, Group Exercise Instructor, Corrective Exercise Instructor, Foam Rolling, several gym-specific certifications from two large gyms, and I've attended numerous fitness conventions and seminars to further my Health/Fitness/Motivation education. I am a volunteer running coach for Girls on the Run of 5 seasons, ran a fitness club for K-4 students during 3 school years, am a LeVel Independent Brand Promoter... and my first 30-Day Challenge was launched August 2020! I'm a newlywed (July 2021), always waiting in anticipation to watch Steelers games, I have two four-legged babies (Big Ben and JuJu), and love dancing (at the club, in the kitchen, in my car...) and going to live music shows... Yeah, you could say I like to stay busy, I guess!
I have been through many of my own health struggles, so I know how it feels when things are stacking against you. After having several health problems and surgeries, and tipping the scales at 235lbs (with nearly 50% bodyfat!), I was ready to get my life back. I signed up for the gym and had the most HORRIBLE first-time meeting with a Personal Trainer (resulting in a long ugly-cry session in my car when it was over). I decided I was going to make the necessary changes ON MY OWN. And I did. I lost the first 30 pounds all on my own (where my love of cycling began!), despite that trainer telling me I would NEVER be able to accomplish it without HIS HELP. Of course, eventually I realized the value of having a SUPPORTIVE and UPLIFTING Personal Trainer, and I had two amazing trainers help me reach more weight loss and strength goals, for over a year.
Through those experiences I realized the importance of positive guidance, but also self-determination. We have to have the drive inside of us first, before we can let anyone in to help. We have to get rid of the excuses and just go all-in!
If you know you're ready for change, but you need some guidance, coaching, and maybe a little bit of cheer-leading, I'm ready to help you!
